I am all for a flexible hybrid-work approach, but if you want to retain top employees and have access to the best hiring pools, you must release control and start treating your people like they deserve to be treated. ![]() My gut is telling me that Amazon is finally on their way to a breaking point with the forced return to office, and other companies who feel the need to do the same thing are going to start losing employees and missing out on amazing candidates because of it. He is now being told, just six months later after planting roots, that his team will no longer be working out of the Amazon Denver office and that he must relocate to Seattle, Santa Monica, or DC to work out of one of their other offices or it will be considered a forced resignation. Earlier this year in March, he and his wife bought a house and started settling in to the beautiful state of Colorado. In 2022 his current employer Amazon relocated him from his hometown of Minnesota to Denver because they wanted him close to the team.
